Box 55 Association responds to incidents 24/7 365 days a year. We operate solely with volunteers and have no paid positions within our organization, Currently Box 55 has 43 total members which is made up of 6 board members, 22 drivers, 8 members, and 7 members in training.
Once an inquiry is received from a prospective volunteer it is forwarded to our Membership Committee to review. A representative will review the information and will reach out to the candidate to discuss their interest in joining our organization, as well as the on boarding process.
Applicants must attend a membership meeting, and go through a series of interviews with the Membership Committee and The Organization President (or other board members) before being considered as a candidate. Applicants must pass a background check, and must be at least 18 years old at the time of application. Applicants interested in becoming a driver must be 21 years of age. After all interviews a $35 application fee is due with the membership application. (this covers membership dues for the remainder of the year as well as costs for the background check).
Once an applicant is accepted as a candidate they will enter a 6 month training period. Candidates must complete a set list of requirements including responses to scenes, attendance at meetings, and participation in fundraising events before they will be considered for full membership. If a candidate has completed all requirements the membership body will vote yes or no to approve them as a full member during the monthly membership meeting.
